Welcome!

My name is Evan Kifner. This blog will reflect my understandings of coursework and experiences of architecture, art, memory, and modernity throughout the city of Berlin, Germany. The city’s rich history is communicated by numerous tangible reminders throughout the urban fabric. Berlin presents an interesting setting for studying the interplay of memory and design because of how the city forgets, commemorates, or alters the perception of it’s past through design. I will be mapping the city using methods of psychogeography to illuminate characteristics of the city as I interpret them.
